”Goodbyes” and ”Retirements” are always the toughest aspects in the life to sink in. The latest person to go through that phase is India’s stalwart batsman Gautam Gambhir. The stylish southpaw, on Tuesday, announced his retirement from all forms of the game. Meanwhile, his good friend and also the KKR owner, Shah Rukh Khan bids his tribute to him.

Gautam Gambhir and Shah Rukh Khan always shared a nice rapport between them. They have always got mutual respect when involved in Kolkata Knight Riders’ setup and also off the field.

Shah Rukh Khan, in his tweet, thanked Gautam Gambhir for his great career and also for his services to Kolkata Knight Riders. Further, he wished him all the best and asked to have some smile on his face as well.

Digging into his tweet, it read ”Thank u for the love & leadership my Captain.U r a special man and may Allah always keep & happy…& u should smile a bit more.”

Gambhir while announcing the retirement shared all his memories with the fans via his social media panel. However, one good news is that he would like to be close to the game of cricket. Perhaps, he would be eyeing to take any role in coaching or mentorship.

“At some stage, I would like to share the retired cricketer’s tag and would like to recycle myself to be useful for something else in cricket and beyond, let’s see,” said Gambhir in his video.

All in all, Gautam Gambhir had a fine cricketing career. He will always be remembered for his heroics in World Cup finals in 2007 and 2011. Furthermore, he has got many glorious knocks for Team India, in which, his 137-run knock at Napier stands tall.
