Shahid Afridi Reacts To Imran Khan's Comments On Pulwama Attack

Pakistan allrounder Shahid Afridi has reacted to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s surprising comments on the Pulwama attack.

Imran Khan is not at all different from his predecessors. Ever since becoming the Prime Minister, the former Pakistan captain has reiterated that restoring peace in the country would be his priority. But as the days pass by, those promises look nothing more than a political gambit. And just like his predecessors, Imran Khan has also come up with a controversial attack in yet another Pakistan sponsored terror attack on India.

On Thursday,  a suicide bomber from the Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a CRPF bus in Pulwama district, killing at least 40 personnel and leaving many critically wounded.  But despite the Pakistan-based group taking responsibility of the attack and also releasing a video for the same, Imran Khan claimed otherwise.

The cricketer-turned politician showed his true colours and completely denied Pakistan’s involvement in the attack. He also said that the Indian government is trying to cash in with the anti-Pakistan campaign ahead of the general elections before warning that Pakistan would attack if India start the war.

“I know it’s a poll season in India. If India will attack us we will surely retaliate. It is easy to start a war but difficult to end. The issue should be solved through dialogue,”  Imran Khan said in his statement.

“India has blamed Pakistan without any proof. Pakistan has nothing to gain from this attack. Pakistan is moving towards peace and stability. This is new Pakistan and new thinking that doesn’t support terrorism,” he added.

And now Shahid Afridi has reacted to Imran’s comments. Well, just like his compatriots, Afridi too did not show any remorse on the inhumane attack and supported Imran, tweeting:

“Absolutely crystal&Clear??”

Meanwhile, the Indian cricket community is doing all it can to show protest to the attack. On Sunday, IMG-Reliance pulled out of its deal to produce television coverage of the ongoing Pakistan Super League worldwide.  Before that, DSport, which was broadcasting the game in India, had also stopped the coverage.

In other show of protests, Cricket Club of India had covered the portrait of former Pakistan skipper Imran Khan in its restaurant. On Sunday, the PCA stadium in Mohali had removed the pictures of the Pakistani players. There are also calls to boycott the game against Pakistan in the upcoming World Cup.
