Shakib Al Hasan Receives Death Threat, Man Threatens To Cut Allrounder To Pieces

In a startling as well as scary turn of events, Bangladesh cricket superstar has received a death threat from a fundamentalist of his own country. The man threatened to kill the Bangladesh ace on Facebook Live as he accused Shakib Al Hasan of blasphemy.

Mohsin Talukder, a resident of Shahpur Talukder Para in Sylhet, started a Facebook Live at 12.06 p.m. on Sunday and publicly threatened to murder Shakib Al Hasan. He claimed that Shakib’s behaviour had ‘hurt Muslims’ as he went about delivering his hate speech.

Mohsin threatened to cut the cricketer to pieces with a chopper for blasphemy. Mohsin went on to say that he would not hesitate in walking from Sylhet to Dhaka to kill Shakib if necessary. The fundamentalist was reportedly threatening the allrounder for inaugurating a Kali Puja in Kolkata.

The Bangladesh allrounder recently went to Kolkata via the Petrapole border last Thursday to inaugurate a Kali Puja in the Beleghata area. He could be seen praying in front of the idol. He returned to Bangladesh by plane on Friday.

Meanwhile, the authorities have taken cognizance of the mater and have started their investigation. As quoted in CricketNext, additional Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police, B.M. Ashraf Ullah Taher, said.

“We just became aware of the matter. The video link has been handed over to the cyber forensic team. Legal action will be taken soon.”

Later, Mohsin did another live session on Facebook and issues an apology for his action. At the same time, he also advised all the celebrities, including Shakib Al Hasan, to follow the ‘right path’. Meanwhile, both the videos have been removed from Facebook.

Shakib Al Hasan is currently gearing up to make his much-anticipated return to international cricket. Last year, he was banned by the ICC from all cricket for two years, with one year of that sentence suspended, for breaching the ICC anti-corruption code. The ban ended on October 29, 2020.
