Shane Warne Reacts To Virat Kohli's Run-Out After Mix-up With Ajinkya Rahane
Updated - 17 Dec 2020, 07:09 PM
Legendary spinner Shane Warne has expressed his disappointment over the way Virat Kohli’s promising knock ended on day one of the ongoing first Test between Australia and India at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide.
India were in a spot of bother when the right-handed batsman joined Cheteshwar Pujara in the middle. The visitors were reeling at 32 for 2 when Virat Kohli came to the crease. And as usual, the skipper pulled his team out of the trouble again. He shared a 68-run stand with Pujara before the latter departed.
It was followed by another fine stand with Ajinkya Rahane which was worth 88 runs before a horrible mix-up ended his promising knock. Virat Kohli was well set and looking comfortable against the hosts. The 32-year old was looking on his way to yet another Test hundred before his fine knock ended with a run-out.
The dismissal means Virat Kohli is yet to score a century in 2020. To score a century this year, he has only one more chance remaining in this very Test as he will fly back home after the conclusion of the Pink Ball match to attend the birth of his first child.
Shane Warne disappointed:
With Virat Kohli’s impressive knock coming to a disappointing end, former Australia spinner Shane Warne took to Twitter to express his disappointment. The former cricketer, who was in the commentary box, pointed out how Kohli’s attitude made it clear he wanted to score big as he tweeted:
“Disappointing to see the great @imVkohli get run out ! You could tell when he walked to the crease he wanted a big innings and was super determined ! Such a shame for us cricket lovers”
