Shane Warne to Replace Rod Marsh in MCC World Cricket Committee

Rod Marsh, who served for MCC World Cricket Committee in last six years is set to resign from the role. Meanwhile, yet another Australian Shane Warne makes it into the committee. The news has been officially confirmed on Wednesday (October 24th).

For a long time now, the committee is working towards the betterment of the game. The legends of the game across the world will be present in the meeting, which provides the key insights to make the game better across the formats.

Mike Gatting quoted he takes the privilege to appreciate Shane Warne to the committee. He feels Warne has got all the ingredients to make it into the committee and also lauds his incredible service to Cricket Australia. 

Further, he also cited Shane Warne will help the committee by giving his valuable suggestions for the growth of the game. The committee will discuss the key issues once in two years to come up with good plans.

“We’re delighted to welcome Shane on to the committee. Obviously, his profile in the world game is as big as they come and with his extensive experience, I am sure he will offer great insights into many different facets of the game,” Mike Gatting, the chairman of the committee, said.

“I’d also like to pay tribute to Rod Marsh, who leaves the committee after six years. He has provided valuable contributions across a variety of areas and we thank him for his efforts,” he added.

Meanwhile, the former Australian quoted he takes the honour in being the member of the MCC World Cricket Committee. Further, he stated he would like to help in every possible way to contribute to the growth of the game.

“It is an honour to have been asked to be a member of the MCC World Cricket committee. It is an extremely exciting time for cricket and I hope that I will have plenty to offer in discussion and debate. I look forward to contributing to the work of the committee,” Warne said about the appointment.
