Every cricketer dreams to represent the national cricket team and to cement an irrefutable claim to greatness. For Shivam Dube, it is an ecstatic feeling which he couldn’t put it in words. The young cricketer on Saturday described his maiden call-up in the national squad as ‘dream-come-true moment’. His spirit has been upbeat ever since he earned a maiden call-up.

The highly-rated allrounder would be looking forward to a new challenge against Bangladesh with emphasis much more on climbing up the ladder, hoping not to rattle down the wrong slope. India will take on Bangladesh in the first T20I of the three-match series tomorrow at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. In a video posted by BCCI, Yuzvendra Chahal can be seen communicating with Shreyas lyer and Dube.

While announcing the team squad last week, India’s chairman of selectors MSK Prasad added that the all-rounder is perfectly fit for the position. His performances for India A have been commendable. He batted with valour and bowled in subtle variations of good line and length. Shivam Dube has vowed to continue working really hard to live up to his reputation.

“Since I am playing for the country it is a proud moment for me and I will continue to work hard,” said Dube.

The all-rounder shot to fame after he sent 5 sixes in 5 balls in a domestic match ahead of the mega Indian Premier League’s auction in 2018 and it was his on-field batting exploits which earned him a spot in Royal Challengers Bangalore.

“I had told Dube before the auction that he had to hit six sixes in an over in order to raise his threshold price in the auction,” said Shreyas lyer.

India’s squad for T20I series against Bangladesh:
