Shoaib Akhtar Comes Out In Support Of Under-Fire Sania Mirza

Former Pakistan fast-bowler Shoaib Akhtar has leapt in defence of Sania Mirza who has become the butt off all jokes on social media in the wake of the World Cup clash between India and Pakistan. There was a wave of memes and witty jokes on the Pakistan team after their dismal performance against India.
And surprisingly enough, Sania Mirza found her in the middle of all those bashing and criticism on social media. As soon as the video came out showing Saina Mirza along with her husband Shoaib Malik and other Pakistan cricketers in a shisha lounge before the game, the Pakistani fans bashed her on social media.

The fans were unhappy with Sania Mirza that despite herself being an elite sportsperson she didn’t stop the cricketers from partying just hours before the game. In the wake of the controversy, the Pakistan Cricket Board as well as Shoaib Malik clarified too but it didn’t make much of a difference. The fans continued to take shots at Sania Mirza.

And amidst all these blame games, legendary pacer Shoaib Akhtar came out in support of the Indian tennis star. Being a sportsman himself, Shoaib Akhtar knows what it feels like to be criticised unnecessarily as he said he feels sorry for the Sania.
“Whatever Sania Mirza does she gets criticised from both India & Pakistan. When she married a Pakistani she was criticised & now Pakistan has lost a match the whole thing’s been diverted to her. I feel sorry for her that she’s being put through this,” said Shoaib Akhtar on his YouTube channel.
The ex-tearaway pacer also talked about the recent reports suggesting that he wanted to kidnap Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre. He said that he has not met Sonali Bendre even once and went on to say that he was never a fan of the actress.
