Shoaib Akhtar, on Wednesday, dismissed former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag’s claim that the former Pakistan bowler showers praise on India because “it makes business”. While only Shoaib Akhtar knows whether Virender Sehwag is right or wrong, one cannot deny that the former pacer has indeed been praising India and Indian cricketers a lot in recent months.

In fact, Shoaib Akhtar is rarely seen talking good about Pakistan cricket on his YouTube channel which has become quite famous among the Indian fans. Not very long ago, he had also caused a stir by saying that Danish Kaneria faced discrimination in the Pakistan team because of being a Hindu. And while he was praised by the Indians for bringing out the problems faced by a minority in Pakistan, he was slammed by his compatriots.

The legendary pacer is also seen making a video about India’s performances after every match. Recently, he released a number of videos in praise of India after their series win over Australia. And as Shoaib Akhtar continues to praise India, an old video, showcasing Sehwag, resurfaced and made waves on social media as the legendary batsman said that Akhtar praises India only to make money.

Shoaib Akhtar has now taken a dig at Virender Sehwag for his old comments, saying that he has more money than the swashbuckling Indian star’s hair on his head.

“I have more maal (money) than you have baal (hair) on your head. If you are not able to fathom that I have such high followers, then understand it. It has taken me 15 years to become Shoaib Akhtar. Yes, I have a huge fan following in India, but I criticised them when they did not play well in the first ODI against Australia,” Akhtar said in a video posted on his YouTube channel.

“Just tell me one Pakistan YouTuber who does not praise India when their team does well. Ramiz Raja, Shahid Afridi all praise Indian side when they do well. Tell me one thing, isn’t it right that the Men in Blue are in fact the number one side in the world, isn’t it right that Kohli is the number one batsman in the world.

“I do not understand what is the problem people have when I am giving my opinion on matters related to cricket. I have played for Pakistan for 15 years, I am not famous for just doing the YouTube thing. I was the fastest bowler in the world,” he added.

Earlier Virender Sehwag had said that Akhtar praises India only for business in the country. The legendary batsman had said that Akhtar would not have praised India so much during his playing days.

“Shoaib Akhtar’s become a good friend of ours as he needs business in India so he has to praise us. If you look at any Shoaib Akhtar interview, you’ll notice he’s saying so many things in praise of India which he would not have said in his playing days,” Sehwag had said.
