Former Pakistan pace spearhead, Shoaib Akhtar has named his pick for the toughest batsman he has ever faced. Akhtar has been a legendary pacer of all time in international cricket. He was the fastest bowler in world cricket and at his prime, he had fierce battles with certain greats of his era.

Of all the legends he has faced during his stint as an international cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid certainly add up in the list. Although Shoaib Akhtar was known for instilling fear in the minds of the opposition batsmen, there was one batsman who he had a lot of trouble facing.

Shoaib Akhtar has said that Rahul Dravid was the tougher batsman between him and Tendulkar and Akhtar felt a lot of difficulty in getting the better of ‘The Wall’.

The Rawalpindi Express stated in an interaction on the Hello app, “Dravid was more difficult to bowl than Sachin.”

The former right-handed batsman rightly deserves the honour as he has been one of India’s greatest batsmen. He is also called ‘The Wall’ as he was famous for facing a hell lot of deliveries, especially in Test cricket. He is the batsman who has faced the most balls in international cricket.

Post his retirement, he is still contributing to Indian cricket, and the Indian Under-19 team under his guidance (in the recent past) were the runners-up of the recently concluded U19 World Cup in South Africa.

Sachin Tendulkar Has Been A Legend Of The Sport

Sachin has been one of the greatest finds of cricket. As mentioned earlier, he has scored more than 34000 international runs for India across all formats. He has set and broken almost all the records that there are in the game of cricket. What stands out is his consistency over the years as he represented India for 24 years and scored a total of 100 international centuries.
