Rahul Dravid worked for Delhi franchise before signing a deal for the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The conflict of Interest kept Rahul Dravid away from Indian Premier League. Meanwhile, Delhi signed Ricky Ponting to replace Dravid.

Speaking of the Indian legend, Iyer quoted that Dravid used to bring the organised approach to the team. He revealed saying that Dravid can bring the goosebumps to the players in the dressing room with his pep talk. Iyer also quoted that the backing from Dravid to the youngsters has always been great.

”Dravid is organised in his approach. Whenever he talks in the team meetings, you really get goosebumps when you sit and listen. He is always reinforcing certain points from the game. It reflects on our performances. All those points are important to us whether we perform or not. He has always been there, backing us and giving us freedom,” Shreyas Iyer said in an interview with SportStar.

Ricky Ponting is an optimistic person:

Further speaking of Ricky Ponting, Shreyas revealed that the Australian legend is more like an optimistic person. He revealed that the body language of Ponting is a great influence on the players. Iyer feels that it would be great to have Ponting around the dressing room.

”Ponting is a very optimistic guy. He is always talking about winning. I really love his body language. Last year, when we were in a bad condition in the initial phase of the tournament, his body language to win all the time really helped. He is a good guy to be around as he treats everyone equally. There is no senior or junior in the team and that’s what we want as a team from the coach,” he added.

Well, Shreyas Iyer explained the difference in a great way by giving enough respect to both the legends. For the first time, he would be leading a franchise in Indian Premier League right from the start of the season. Hopefully, he comes good for the team.
