Well, once again, the Indian National Cricket Team looked like posting a moderate total on the board, however, then came the knock from Shreyas Iyer, which completely changed the complexion of the game. He was equally supported by the number 3 batsman KL Rahul, who finally scored a fifty to his name after a fine time.
Initially, it was Bangladesh skipper Mahamudullah Riyad, who won the toss, asked the home side to bat first. They have got the worst start with Rohit Sharma being knocked out for a cheap score. However, KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan took the charge in powerplay overs to give a fine start to the innings.
Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul scored fifties:
Just when things looked all set, Shikhar Dhawan was outfoxed by the slower ball of Shafiul Islam when Mahmudullah took a brilliant catch at long-on. Then came the beautiful partnership between Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul, which made Bangladesh fielders chasing the leather more often than not.
Adding to the troubles, dew played its part as well. Though KL Rahul walked back soon after scoring a fifty, Shreyas Iyer knocked it brilliantly to put fans on edge of their seats. Iyer, who escaped being out on duck, took the chance with both hands to find the boundary fence more often than not.
In particular, he smashed brilliant sixes to up the ante for the team. Shreyas Iyer stunned Afif Hossain with three sixes in an over and then continued to for a period of time to put Indians on top of the game. However, Mahmudullah turned to Soumya Sarkar, who bowled a stunning double-wicket over to help Bangladesh make a comeback into the game.
Firstly, he knocked out Rishabh Pant and then got the crucial wicket of Shreyas Iyer, which made the difference to the total on the board. In the end, India managed to post 174 on the board with the help of Manish Pandey’s blitz.
Here are a few Twitter Reactions:
Two very T20-savvy cricketers have hit the ball beautifully today. KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. Been great fun to watch.

Pant has lost it. Feel sad for him. Nothing going right. I think it's time for him to go back into domestic cricket.

Shreyas Iyer is prime example of how to bat in middle overs. If he followed his career, he is not a naturally big striker of the ball but what he does brilliantly- keeps taking chances in every 2nd ball & doesn't put heavy price of his wicket (key thing in T20 cricket) #INDvBAN

Two Indians crossing fifty apart from openers or Kohli (in T20Is):-
Suresh Raina 63 & MS Dhoni 56 vs ENG in 2017
KL Rahul 52 & Shreyas Iyer 62 vs BAN todayBoth were final T20Is of the series, and India were 1-1 before these matches.#INDvBAN #stats
