Shubman Gill Sizzles With Bat For India C, Slams Stunning Ton

There is absolutely no stopping Shubman Gill at the moment. With almost every passing game, the youngster is proving that he is ready for the international stage. Shubman Gill has not looked back since starring for India U19 in their victorious campaign at last year’s U19 World Cup. Since then, he has impressed in domestic circuit, Indian Premier League and is now a regular face in the India A side.

Earlier this year, he made his ODI debut on the tour of New Zealand. He also earned his maiden call-up for the Test series against South Africa and is also a part of the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh. And ahead of the series, Shubman Gill proved himself once again by scoring a stunning century for India C in the ongoing Deodhar Trophy.

The right-handed batsman slammed 143 as India C piled up a mammoth 366 for 3 against India A. His knock came off 142 deliveries and was studded with 10 fours and 6 sixes. Along with Shubman Gill, Mayank Agarwal also scored a century. The India Test opener slammed 120 from 111 balls with the help of 15 fours and a solitary six.

The two openers gave India C a solid start by adding a big stand of 226 runs. India A skipper Hanuma Vihari broke the stand when he accounted for Agarwal. Priyam Garg fell cheaply before Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav took the score past the 300-run mark. Shubman Gill was the next to depart with Ravichandran Ashwin taking his wicket.

From thereon, it was all about Suryakumar. The Mumbai star fired on all cylinders to help his side post up the huge total. He remained unbeaten on 72 from just 29 balls. The knock contained 9 fours and four sixes.
