With Rahul Dravid being elevated to the post of  head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), the BCCI have roped in Sitanshu Kotak and Paras Mhambrey as India A and U19 coaches respectively.  Dravid was holding the both the posts before he was named the head of the NCA on July 8.

Kotak will perform head coach and batting coach duties with India A and will have the company of Ramesh Powar and T Dilip in the backroom staff. Powar, the former India offspinner, has been named the new bowling coach while Dilip is the new fielding coach. The appointments are only for the upcoming series against South Africa A. India A will play two four-day matches and five one-dayers against the visitors.

On the other hand,  former India fast bowler Mhambrey, who has worked for long with the ‘A’ and Under-19 sides under Dravid, will be the head coach as well as the bowling coach of the junior side at the upcoming Asia Cup in Colombo. Former India batsman Hrishikesh Kanitkar and Abhay Sharma will be the batting and fielding coaches, respectively.

Left-handed batsman Kotak was in-charge of the Saurashtra side in the domestic circuit. He has played 130 first-class games and amassed 8061 runs with an average of 41.76. He also had 70 domestic wickets under his name. On the other hand, Mhambrey played two Tests for India and picked up 284 wickets in 91 first-class games.

Reports also suggest that Mhambrey and Abhay will continue to be members of Dravid’s permanent staff at the NCA. The duo, however,  will serve elsewhere – like with the Under-19 team – as required.
