List of most number of sixes conceded by Indian bowlers in a T20I match

The emergence of Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket has thrown a lot on the plate since past one decade. The miseries were added to the bowlers, but being street-street the bowling stock has found the alternatives to tackle the batters from time-to-time.

Apart from the Indian bowlers, the most sixes conceded by bowlers in the shorter version of the game include some of the exciting names in the world cricket.

The Stuart Broad, Andrew Tye and Xavier Doherty from Australia which is followed by Irish Barry McCarthy.

The T20 version has entertained the crowd and the shortest version of the game has sprung many surprises overall in the gentleman’s game.

Here’s the list of Indian bowlers who have conceded most maximums in a Twenty20 International fixture so far.

Yuzvendra Chahal – seven sixes vs South Africa –

South African wicketkeeper-batsman Heinrich Klaasen has taken Yuzvendra Chahal to cleaners in the second Twenty20 International in Centurion.

The 27-year-old Chahal, who bagged 16 wickets in the six-match One-day Internationals series, was at the receiving end.

Klaasen, who’s known for the pyrotechnics smashed five maximums on the bowling of Chahal in 12 deliveries.

Much of our surprise after bowling superbly, Chahal leaked 64 runs in his quota of four overs.

Interestingly, Chahal also holds the unwanted recorded of conceding most runs as an Indian bowler in the T20Is.

While conceding 16 runs in an over, Chahal also went wicketless when the Proteas leveled the series in the penultimate T20. However, India clinches the series decider in Cape Town after Chahal was replaced by Axar Patel.

Ravindra Jadeja – Six sixes vs Australia, 2009 –

In 2010 Twenty20 World Cup, the left-arm orthodox bowler Ravindra Jadeja conceded six sixes on his bowling. He is known for his unerring accuracy. But in the mega-event against the Kangaroos, Jadeja proved to off-colour with the white-ball on that particular day.

In the Group F clash at Bridgetown in Barbados, Jadeja conceded 38 runs in his two overs at an unhealthy average of 19.

On May 7, 2010, Australia batted first to post 184 for five while riding on David Warner’s 72 off 42 balls. He was declared Man of the Match after India was bundled out at 135 in 17.2 overs.

In a first thrilling Twenty20 International of Windies tour at Lauderhill in the United States of America, Evin Lewis blasted off Stuart Binny.

In his solitary over, the medium pacer in Binny conceded 32 runs. Lewis, who smashed five sixes of Binny’s over went on to register his prolific hundred before Craig Brathwaite-led Windies sealed the match by one-run.

In that particular match, the aggregate total was 489 which stand now as the second-highest in T20I cricket.

Ravindra Jadeja – Five sixes vs Windies, 2017 –

In the only Twenty20 International fixture, Evin Lewis was again at the task to smash a brilliant hundred.

The 29-year-old spinner Jadeja all-around the park. He gave away 41 runs in 3.3 overs as he conceded five sixes and a four.

The left-arm orthodox spinner Jadeja gave away runs at the unimpressive average of 11.71.

At Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica, the swashbuckling left-handed opening batsman Lewis faced 62 balls for his sensational knock. He smashed 12 sixes and six boundaries.

Yuzvendra Chahal has shown a lot of improvement since leaving a significant impact in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The Haryana-based cricketer Chahal had also faced the toughest of the times in the national fold.

Chahal was at the receiving end in the one-off Twenty20 International against Sri Lanka in Colombo on September 6, 2017.

Although India went on to win the match by seven wickets and four balls to spare, Chahal conceded 43 runs in his quota of four overs. He bagged three wickets.

Promising Chahal witnessed five sixes and a boundary on his own bowling before Islander post 170 for seven.
