With the coronavirus pandemic bringing cricket to a standstill, cricketers do not have much to do nowadays. Just like everyone else, cricketers around the world are spending times at their homes. And in order to pass the time without any action, the players are coming up with several ideas.

Most of them have used the opportunity to interact with their fans through social media platforms. On Friday, India women team’s star player Smriti Mandhana decided to do the same as she took to Twitter to spend some time interacting with her followers.

The left-handed batter held a question-answer session and the fans asked her a number of questions. One of the questions was about her favourite IPL team. Recently, her teammate Harmanpreet Kaur was also asked the same question and she had revealed Royal Challengers Bangalore as her favourite IPL team.

But unlike Harmanpreet, Smriti Mandhana did not name any of the eight IPL teams as her favourite. Instead of that, she revealed that Trailblazers of Women’s IPL is her favourite team. Smriti Mandhana led the team in the first two seasons of Women’s T20 Challenge.

Women’s IPL, also known as Women’s T20 Challenge, started in 2018 in the wake of call from all quarters to start a T20 tournament for women in India on the lines of IPL. But for understandable reasons, the BCCI did not launch a full-fledged tournament straightaway and instead decided to take things slowly.

In the inaugural edition of Women’s T20 Challenge, two teams – Supernovas and Trailblazers – played one match with the former winning the game by 3 wickets. Last year, it was a three team tournament with Velocity being the new team.  Supernovas beat Velocity by 4 wickets to retain their title.
