Mohammad Kaif wishes Bhuvneshwar Kumar on his 28th birthday.

India fast-bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar turned 28 on Monday (February 5), and while his fans and followers wished him on several social media platforms, the special ones were reserved from the cricketing fraternity.

Former India batsman and Bhuvneshwar’s Uttar Pradesh teammate Mohammad Kaif-led the list, as he expressed his delight over witnessing the bowler’s meteoric progress in the game. Kaif was one of the biggest stars in the Uttar Pradesh team when Bhuvneshwar made his First-Class debut in 2007.

A decade after playing his first game for Uttar Pradesh, Bhuvneshwar has become the pace spearhead of the Indian team.

“Wish you a very happy birthday @BhuviOfficial. Having seen you as a young kid who was trying to find his way, to leading our pace attack, you have come a long way. I am so happy with the progress you have made and wish you the best always,” wrote Kaif who played 13 Tests and 125 ODIs and led India to their maiden U-19 World Cup title in 2000.

Coming to Bhuvneshwar’s international career, the right-arm pacer has not looked back since making his India debut in 2012. The right-arm pacer, who as a 19-year-old dismissed the legendary Sachin Tendulkar for his first first-class duck in Indian domestic cricket, has so far played 21 Tests, 83 ODIs and 23 T20Is. He has picked up 174 international wickets so far in addition to scoring close to 1,000 international runs.
