Mumbai Indians’ batsman Suryakumar Yadav has performed outstandingly well in the past three seasons of IPL 2020. Suryakumar Yadav has impressed the fans and experts with his range of shots and absorbing pressure despite the stakes in place. With the 30-year old not finding a spot in India’s white-ball squads for the tour of Australia, the selectors have copped plenty of criticism. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has opened up on the same.

With 374 runs in 13 matches at an average of 41.56 and a strike rate of 153.28, Suryakumar Yadav is the third-highest run-getter for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020. In 2018 and 2019, Yadav amassed 512 and 424 runs respectively for the defending champions, becoming a vital cog in their line-up. Yadav, who bats at number three for the four-time title winners, has helped to stabilize the innings.

The 30-year old’s domestic record is as impressive. In 77 first-class games, Suryakumar Yadav has 5326 runs at 44.01 with 14 centuries. As far as List A cricket goes, the Maharashtra-born cricketer has 2447 runs at 35.63 with an imposing strike rate of 99.63. Hence, these statistics indeed deserve a place in the national team and the ruckus in social media is reasonably justified.
