Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly has been really proactive ever since becoming the BCCI president last month. Hopes were high from the legendary cricketer and so far, he has lived up to the expectations. He has not even completed one month as BCCI president but has already done a number of works most notably to convince Virat Kohli & Co. about playing day-night Tests.

New Zealand and Australia had played the first-ever Test under lights way back in 2015. Since then, the likes of England, South Africa, West Indies, Pakistan also joined the list of teams who played day-night Test. However, the Indian team-management remained reluctant to it. The team-management was not ready to play in different condition and was not sure about how the pink ball would behave.

But it did not take long Ganguly to convince Kohli and others for the day-night Test. Consequently, the upcoming second Test between India and Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens will be a day-night affair. Both India and Bangladesh will be making their debut in pink-ball cricket. The much-awaited Test starts from November 22.

Ganguly taking special care of preparation:

In order to make the day-night Test a big success, Sourav Ganguly has taken the onus on himself to look after all the arrangements. Army paratroopers will fly into the Eden Gardens to hand over a pink ball each to the two captains just before the toss. It will be followed by the ringing of the customary Eden Bell by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

The organisers have also plans in place to honour former cricketers. During the 40-minute supper break, the organisers have organised a talk show featuring the ‘Fabulous Five’ of Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble and VVS Laxman. The legendary players will speak on the historic 2001 Test between India and Australia at the venue.

But nothing describes Ganguly’s dedication better than the pictures that are doing rounds on internet today. The BCCI boss could be seen standing near the pitch and monitor every fine detail. The BCCI themselves took to Twitter to post a snap of the same, writing:
