The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that the bowling action of South Africa women’s cricket off-spinner Raisibe Ntozakhe is found to be illegal.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that the bowling action of South Africa women’s cricket off-spinner Raisibe Ntozakhe is found to be illegal.

The evaluation revealed that every delivery of her was exceeding the 15 degrees level. It was above the level of the permitted level under regulations.

In accordance with Article 6.1.2 of the ICC Regulations For The Review of Bowlers Reported with Suspect Illegal Bowling Actions, Ntozakhe’s international suspension will also be recognized and enforced by all National Cricket Federations for domestic cricket events played in their own jurisdiction.

However, according to Article 11.5 of the Regulations and with the consent of the Cricket South Africa, Raisibe Ntozakhe might be able to bowl in domestic cricket events played under the supervision of Cricket South Africa (CSA).

In addition to that, Raisibe Ntozakhe was reported during ICC Women’s Championship ODI between the Windies and South Africa. The match took place on 16 September 2018 in Barbados. Her bowling action assessment took place on 28 September 2018 at the University of Pretoria. Moreover, Ntozakhe can apply for a re-assessment after modifying her bowling action in accordance with clause 4.5 of the Regulations.

Cricket South Africa included the name of Raisibe Ntozakhe in their squad October 9, 2018, for the forthcoming ICC Women’s World T20 in the West Indies. Meanwhile, CSA didn’t need any approval from the Event Technical Committee if they announced the replacement before November 2, 2018.

Dane van Niekerk will be solely responsible for the entire team, given the charge of the skipper. They will try to put up their level best to put the hands on the trophy. The ICC Women’s World Cup 2018 will start from November 9, 2018, and Windies are hosting the tournament.
