Sri Lanka would be eager to remove their stain, as they were outsmarted completely by Joe Root-led side in 2018. They were whitewashed in their home ground by England Cricket Team in a three-match series.

The series is yet another added assignment in an already-packed schedule for England. They are already registered to play 14 Tests between now and next year’s World T20, which will be held in Australia in October-November.

Currently, Sri Lanka are in Australia preparing for a 3-match T20I series. It will be followed by the Test series before return home. On the other hand, England is locking horns with the New Zealand cricket team. The Kiwis will be the hosts of the bilateral series.
