There would be little denying the fact that MS Dhoni is one of the most smartest if not the smartest cricketer in the world right now. More often than other players from across the globe have hailed Dhoni and his smartness. And now Star Sports have revealed just how much preparation Dhoni puts in before walking out on the field. During the pre-match show ahead of India’s World Cup-opener against South Africa, the broadcasters revealed why the veteran batsman is using three bats during his innings in recent times. In the last few months, the former India skipper has been seen changing bats as his innings progresses and Star Sports have now revealed the reasons behind it.

Star Sports Reveal Why MS Dhoni Uses Three Different Bats During His Knocks

Dhoni starts his innings with his usual bat. Once he has his eyes set, he asks for lighter willow with a wider handle. The newer bat are usually 20 grams lighter than his normal ones. The World Cup-winning skipper then takes the same first bat with more weight to finish the innings. Somi Kohli, the owner of cricket kit company BAS, also revealed that Dhoni has asked for special bats for the World Cup.

Dhoni, meanwhile, will be looking to do well in this World Cup. The veteran is being widely tipped as a crucial weapon for the Men in Blue in the World Cup. After a forgettable 2018 where he had fared poorly with the bat and had faced criticism from all around, Dhoni is finally looking in his elements. Dhoni has started 2019 on a stunning note.

He also impressed on the tour of New Zealand before finishing this year’s IPL as Chennai Super Kings highest run-scorer. Dhoni will be looking to make the most of his current form in the tournament.
