Stephen Fleming, the former coach of IPL franchise, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), is all set to don a new hat, as he would be taking charge of the CSK academy as well.

The franchise has established an academy in the state where they would coach young cricketers and train coaches as well. Fleming, who is all set to come back as the Head Coach of CSK, would start his work quite early, as the franchise is all set to hand him another responsibility,

“The whole idea behind the academy is to groom young talents for the future. Fleming may well be at the helm of things as guiding force of the academy. We are looking at having some former CSK players and local coaches to set things going. We are on the look-out for a suitable place to start the academy around April-May next year,” K George John, Director of CSK said.

Fleming, who played for the franchise as well, was later appointed as the coach of the team. When CSK got banned for two years, Fleming was roped by Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) for the same role with MS Dhoni as captain.

Though, the franchise did not have a good season in the first year; they qualified for the finals in the second one before losing to Mumbai Indians by just one run in the finale.

Fleming, in partnership with Dhoni – who is likely to lead the side – will look to emulate their previous success where the franchise had won two IPL titles in eight seasons.

Meanwhile, the franchise has confirmed they would retain MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina ahead of the auction. Suspense still lingers on the third player which the franchise would keep. They have options in the form of Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Dwayne Bravo and a few more.

They would be able to retain only one of them before the auction, but on the auction day, they will have a chance to get back to their favourite player by use of Right to Match (RTM) card. They would be able to use two RTM cards if they retain three players ahead of the auction.
