The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed about the appointment of Steve Rhodes, the former English wicketkeeper-batsman as the head coach of the national team.

Rhodes will start with his duties straight away. The contract of Rhodes will at least continue till the 2020 World Twenty20 scheduled in Australia. He will definitely look to get Bangladesh back on track after some abysmal performances against Afghanistan in the ongoing T20I series in India.

It will be a huge relief for the team management. The announcement comes after they had searched for a replacement of Chandika Hathursinga for a long time.

Hathurusingha resigned from his post in October 2017. Meanwhile coming back to the newly appointed coach, Rhodes is known for his talent-spotting skills.

Sri Lankan played 11 Tests and nine One-day Internationals for England and was also in charge of county team Worcestershire since 2006. He was also a former player for them representing them from 1985-2004.

However, Steve Rhodes was sacked by the county previous year. Board also relieved Steve of the duties of being the head coach of the England Under-19 squad.

It happened just before the Junior World Cup which was held in New Zealand, earlier in the year.

Bangladesh seeks revenge in final T20I against Afghanistan:

Reports emerged that he had failed to concede the arrest of a young all-rounder Alex Hepburn in an appropriate time. Meanwhile coming back to Bangladesh, they will definitely need to pull their socks up if they harbours hope of winning the final T20I against Afghanistan.

Bangladesh has some match-winners in their ranks and has the ability to change the game on their own.

Captain Shakib Al Hasan has been the pillar for Bangladesh for a decade now. However, what has troubled Bangladesh the most is their batting performance in the ongoing series.

They have failed to pick the variations of a certain Rashid Kham. The 19-year-old spinner has been quite sensational in the series so far and has bagged the Man of the Match Awards in both the matches.

Bangladesh will look to salvage some pride as a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Afghanistan will definitely be pretty hard to digest for them.
