Team India has flown to the United Kingdom (UK) following their tour of Ireland and England. The Men in Blue will first play Ireland in a couple of Twenty20 Internationals. And it will be followed by the limited-overs series against England.

Interestingly, India will meet the hosts in a three-match T20I series followed by as many One-day Internationals. After a two-week break, India will then meet the hosts in a highly anticipated five-match Test series.

Furthermore, it will be a huge series for India especially given the fact that they lost quite badly the last time around.

In their 2014 tour, India happened to be on the receiving end with a 3-1 loss. Skipper Virat Kohli had a horrendous time. He just managed to score 134 runs in 10 innings at a below-par average of 13.40.

The Team Indian batting mainstay Kohli was thoroughly troubled just outside the off stump. Virat kept nicking at away swinging deliveries and gave simple catches to fielders stationed behind the wicket.

Despite getting off to a winning start in Lord’s, India’s performance dipped quite considerably in the next few matches. They ended up losing all the three-Test fixtures which followed after the historic victory in Lord’s.

India did manage to win the ODI series and won it quite comprehensively in the end.

However, things won’t be the same this time around. England has been very dominant in the recent past and recently notched up the highest ODI score. They smashed 481 in the third ODI against bleak-looking Australia which is also the venue for the season opener against India.

On the other hand, India has a pretty squad side too and it will be a different ball game compared to the handicapped Aussies. The way India thrashed South Africa 5-1 showed their utter ruthlessness. Many cricketing pundits and former cricketers have expected the Indian team to win across formats in England.

Virat shared a picture on his Instagram handle sitting on the UK-bound flight with his teammates. He further revealed he is fully fit and raring to go.

“Off we go. UK Bound! @mahi7781 @shikhardofficial@arunkanade”.

Moreover, Indian footballing champ Sunil Chhetri, who helped India in the Intercontinental Cup wished the Indian cricket team a very good luck ahead of the tough tour.

“@virat.kohli all the very best to you and the entire team champ,” Chhetri commented on Virat’s post.
