The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka of the three-match series saw the visitors go 1-0 up in the battle.
The day in Dharamshala will get marked by an outstanding performance from the Sri Lankan bowlers which saw the Indian batting line-up fall like a pack of cards. Fast bowler Suranga Lakmal was the highlight of them as it was his mind-boggling spell which tore apart the Indian batting like a pod of peas.

Lakmal was sensational on the flat track in Dharamshala, as he picked up four crucial wickets to his name. The bowler completed his ten overs giving away just 13 runs with an extraordinary economy of 1.30. The bowler was rightly presented with the Man of The Match award for his tremendous display with the ball.
Speaking about the same at the post-match presentation, the bowler said he had worked hard over the past two years to get to this stage. He complimented the Sri Lankan coaching staff for spending their time and effort on him.

Lakmal also mentioned he is a fitter player now with his health giving him the much-needed support.
“The last two years have been filled with hard work. The coaching staff too has worked on me, and I am very happy with my performance today. My fitness and health have been really good over the last few days, and that showed in the results today.” said Suranga Lakmal on receiving the award.
Skipper Thisara Perera also praised the bowler saying Lakmal was the best bowler for the Sri Lankan team in the Test series and now he is showing off his capabilities in the limited-overs format. Perera labelled the bowler, as the number one in the side right now.

The Indians were bundled out for a mere score of 112 by the Sri Lankans which paved the way for the visitors to end their 12-match losing streak.
