Southpaw Suresh Raina, probably, the owner of many underrated knocks in International cricket. Exactly, 13 years ago, a lad from Uttar Pradesh with exceptional fielding skills made his debut for Team India.

During the course, the star middle-order batsman Raina has seen a lot of the highs and lows.

Meanwhile, the flamboyant batsman Raina took to his official social media accounts to thank his die-hard fans after the completion of glorious 13-year career for the national team.

Dream and passion of playing for my country had realised: Suresh Raina

The elegant left-handed batsman Raina achieved a lot in his 13-year illustrious career. He has been the part of India’s glorious ICC World Cup 2011 campaign at home and played a lot of match-winning knocks for the country.

Though his run tally doesn’t show his value, the knocks he scored playing in the middle-order under immense pressure show his calibre to the world. One such knock ever to be remembered was against Australia in ICC Word Cup 2011 semi-final clash.

The stylish southpaw in his tweet added that his passion for cricket and the dream to play for India has been achieved 13 years ago.

Raina eventually admitted that he had seen a lot of hiccups but stated that playing for India matters a lot.

”That dream & passion of playing for my country had realised exactly 13 years ago today! 13 years have been full of highs & lows but the moment I am on the field to represent nation nothing else matters but my  India! I thank all of you wholeheartedly to make this journey so wonderful!,” he tweeted.

After losing his place in the ODI team due to failure in the Yo-Yo fitness test, the southpaw made his comeback in the side for India’s tour to England. However, he had a topsy-turvy tour.

Suresh Raina has got the golden chance of proving his worth in the middle-order line-up when Indian top-order failed miserably. However, he was successful in only one innings for India. It might not be sufficient to retain his place in the side owing to the international cricket.

Hopefully, selectors might give him a chance in upcoming Asia Cup 2018 before deciding his future in the Indian team for upcoming Australia tour followed by 2019 ICC World Cup.
