Suryakumar Yadav Reacts As Virat Kohli Breaks Sachin Tendulkar’s Record For Fastest To 12000 ODI Runs

Indian skipper Virat Kohli, on Wednesday, created history and added yet another feather to his already illustrious cap by becoming the fastest player to score 12,000 runs in ODI. The right-handed batsman achieved the incredible feat during the third ODI against Australia in Canberra.

Virat Kohli broke batting legend Sachin Tendulkar’s record to achieve the feat. Before the start of the match, he needed 23 runs to complete 12,000 runs and went on to play a 63-run knock. He achieved the feat in his 242nd innings, which is 58 innings quicker than Tendulkar. Tendulkar held the record for being the fastest to 12,000 ODI runs in 300 innings.

Virat Kohli also became just the sixth player after Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Kumar Sangakkara, Sanath Jayasuriya and Mahela Jayawardene to score 12000 ODI runs. So far, he has scored 43 hundreds and 60 half centuries.

Suryakumar Yadav reacts to Virat Kohli’s achievement:

All the eyes have been on Suryakumar Yadav’s Twitter handle ever since he liked a controversial tweet regarding Virat Kohli last month. That incident had made many believe that not all was well between Kohli and Suryakumar after the latter was snubbed for the ongoing tour of Australia.

He had also faced backlash from the fans for liking the tweet. But since then, the Mumbai star has shown that all is well between him and the India skipper and his latest tweet for Virat Kohli further proves it. Soon after the 32-year old achieved the feat against Australia, Suryakumar Yadav took to Twitter to laud him, writing:

Fastest to reach another Milestone @imVkohli 12,000 Runs in ODI cricket. What a Player”

Here is the tweet from Suryakumar Yadav:

Meanwhile, Australia have already sealed the three-match series by winning the first two games. Following the ODIs, both the teams will lock horns in three T20Is and four Tests.
