Suryakumar Yadav Reveals Sachin Tendulkar's Message After He Was Ignored For Australia Tour

Suryakumar Yadav has revealed the message he received from the legendary Sachin Tendulkar after being ignored for the upcoming tour of Australia. One of the most consistent as well as destructive performers in domestic circuit, the 30-year old is still eyeing his first call-up from the senior team.

Suryakumar Yadav had finished the last season of Vijay Hazare Trophy with an average of 113, the highest in the competition. The Mumbai star continued in the same vein in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. His tally of 392 was the third highest while his strike rate of 169 was the second-best among batsmen with 250 runs in the tournament.

His form in the last three IPLs has been stunning too. He scored 512 and 424 runs in 2018 and 2019 seasons respectively. In the just-concluded season, the right-handed batsman piled up 480 runs and helped Mumbai Indians retain the title. But his consistent performances have not yielded the desired result so far as far as selection into the Indian team is concerned.

Moments after Suryakumar Yadav received the heartbreaking news of being snubbed by the national selectors again, he received a motivating message from non other than the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. The former India batsman advised the Mumbai Indians to stay sincere to the game and the result will follow.

“If you are honest and sincere to the game, the game will look after you,” was Tendulkar’s message for Suryakumar, according to The Indian Express.

Revealing the message further, Suryakumar said: “This might well be your final hurdle. Your dream of playing for India is around the corner. Stay focused and surrender yourself to cricket. I know you are not one of those who will be disheartened and give it up. Keep going on and give us many more reasons to celebrate.”

The Mumbai batsman said that one message from Tendulkar was enough for him to understand how to deal with the snub.

“He (Tendulkar) made me understand in one single message that this is how it should be. I have been fair to cricket, cricket will be fair to me someday.

The man, who for 24 years gave reason to the world to celebrate because of his cricket, and has endured several ups and downs in his career, has sent me this lovely message. I don’t think I need to say anything further,” he said.
