Of late, the game of cricket is surprising fans with something or the other on a regular basis. The cricketers are becoming so fit that they are committing themselves to do acrobatic feats on the field. The latest to show his incredible skills on the field is Manoj Tiwary, who pulled out a stunning catch to dismiss Jharkhand batsman.
The flamboyant cricketer, who is leading Bengal side in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019, showed his blistering fielding ability against Jharkhand. Tiwary, who is fielding at the cover region, closer to the batsman than the normal, dived to his right to pull out a single-handed catch.
The incident took place in the super league stage of the tournament when Bengal locked horns with Jharkhand at Indore. It was in the 15th over of the game when Jharkhand keeper Nazim played a drive but failed to keep it down the ground. In between, Manoj Tiwary leapt to his right to pull out a stunner.
As it happened:
Initially, it was Bengal, who won the toss and elected to bowl first. It turned out to be a brilliant decision, as the bowlers rose to the occasion by taking the wickets more often than not. Writtick Chatterjee and Shahbaz Ahmed are the wrecker-in-chief, who picked up 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
For Jharkhand, Ankul Roy was the top-scorer with 37 runs. Meanwhile, Virat Singh scored 27 runs while Ishank Jaggi knocked 24 runs to put 126 runs on the board.
In reply, Bengal side got a solid opening stand with the openers adding 67 runs for the first wicket. Both Wriddhiman Saha and Shreevats Goswami wielded their willow to make things fall in place for Bengal in the chase.
Goswami smashed a brilliant unbeaten knock of 86* while Saha scored 24. The stylish left-hander scored 12 boundaries and 1 six in his knock. During the course, Manoj Tiwary failed to finish the game for Bengal.
