Former Pakistani captain Rashid Latif lavished rich praise on India batter Suryakumar Yadav for his magnificent century against England in the third and final T20I which was played at Nottingham on July 10. Though India lost the match by 17 runs, Suryakumar’s knock was applauded by one and all.

Suryakumar Yadav has been getting rave reviews for his batting ability and though he made his India debut last year only, he has impressed one and all with his manner of wielding his willow as he has played both aggressive brands of cricket and has saved India blushes as well at times.

He has already showed his mettle in the Indian Premier League for the Mumbai Indians and the Kolkata Knight Riders. He was one of the four players retained by MI before the IPL 2022 auction and though he only played 8 matches due to a forearm injury, he amassed 303 runs at an average of 43.29 including 3 half-centuries.

“He’s a good addition in both, ODIs and T20Is. His wrist work is fantastic. He has that quality to tonk massive sixes over fine-leg and square-leg, whether it be against spinners and pacers. That talent is quite rare in international cricket. Maybe Maxwell has that.

He’s strong and his bat-swing is quite fast. So, he can be very unpredictable. The century that he scored in the previous game is a testament to that,” Latif said on his official YouTube channel.
