The Asian sides have always been the powerhouse in the game. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh have produced some great players and they are a force to reckon with in the cricket world. Furthermore, Afghanistan has taken giant strides in the cricket world. The Asian players have delivered consistent performances and they have ticked the right boxes.

Subsequently, we try to come up with the best Asia XI from a current lot of players in the ODI format. The Asian sides have been dominant forces in the cricket and we try to compile a strong team from Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan players.

Here is the Best Asia ODI XI from the current players.

Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma has been in sublime form in the recent past. The Indian vice-captain has scored his runs consistently for the Indian team. The right-hander batted at the top of his game in the recently concluded World Cup. The talisman batsman was the leading run-getter of the tournament as he scored 648 runs at an average of 81. Furthermore, he scored five centuries in the tourney. The right-hander has the skills to score daddy hundred and he is the only batsman to score three double hundreds.

Rohit Sharma has scored 8658 runs in 215 One Day matches at an average of 48.92.

Shikhar Dhawan has provided solid starts to the Indian team along with Rohit Sharma. The southpaw was unfortunate to miss out in the recently concluded World Cup due to a thumb injury. The left-hander had scored a fine hundred against Australia in the league stage match. Dhawan’s record in the ICC events has been spectacular.

The left-hander has been sublime form in the recent past and he would like to continue his good form going. Shikhar Dhawan has scored 5480 runs in the 130 One Day Internationals at an average of 44.92. Dhawan has scored 17 centuries in his ODI career and scores his runs at a strike rate of 94.

Indian captain Virat Kohli is the most consistent batsman in the world. Kohli has consistently scored his runs across the globe. The talisman batsman has ticked the right boxes and he has been a nightmare for the world-class bowlers. Kohli’s hunger for the runs is never satiated and he looks set as soon as he comes to the crease. Thus, Kohli has the skills to hit the ground running and he is a dangerous batsman for the opposition.

Kohli has thus far amassed 11286 runs in 236 One Day matches at an average of 59.4. The right-hander has scored 41 centuries in the ODI format. Kohli will also hold the captaincy reins of our Best Asia XI.

Pakistan’s prodigy batsman Babar Azam is a treat to watch. Azam is a technically correct batsman and he has savoured great success in the recent past. The right-hander has been Pakistan’s best batsman and he has delivered the goods for the Men in Green. Azam was Pakistan’s highest run-getter in the recently concluded World Cup as he scored 474 runs in the eight matches. The talisman batsman scored a fine century against New Zealand.

The right-hander has thus far accumulated 3213 runs in 72 One Day matches as he has scored his runs at an average of 53.55. The talisman batsman has scored 10 centuries for Pakistan in the 50-overs version.

Shakib Al Hasan

The Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is currently the best all-rounder in the world. Shakib Al Hasan has delivered the goods with both bat and ball for Bangladesh. The talisman all-rounder was on song in the recently concluded World Cup. The southpaw batsman scored 606 runs at an average of 86.57. Furthermore, the left-arm spinner took 11 wickets in the ODI showpiece for the Tigers. Hence, Shakib Al Hasan has come up with consistent performances for the Tigers.

Shakib Al Hasan has scored 6323 runs in 206 ODI matches whereas he has scalped 260 wickets in his glorious ODI career. The southpaw batsman has scored his runs at an average of 37.64.

The Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim is a consistent performer for the Tigers. The right-handed batsman has scored his runs consistently for the side. In fact, Rahim has been the fulcrum of the Bangladesh middle order and he has delivered the goods for the side.

Mushfiqur Rahim has done a good job for the Bangladesh side and he would like to continue his good form going. The right-hander has scored 5998 runs in 215 One Day Internationals at an average of 35.70. The talisman batsman has scored seven centuries in the 50-overs format. India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya has provided the finishing touches to the team with his explosive batting. Pandya has got quick runs for the side in the death overs. Furthermore, he has shown the promise to complete 10 overs with the ball and his bowling has also improved in the recent past. Moreover, Hardik Pandya is a fine fielder.

Hardik Pandya has scored 957 runs in 54 One Day Internationals. The right-arm seamer has also taken 54 wickets in as many matches for the India national cricket team. Pandya scores his runs at an impressive strike rate of 115.58.

Rashid Khan

Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan has taken massive strides in the ODI format. Rashid Khan has been Afghanistan’s best performer in the recent past. However, the talisman leg-spinner was not at his best in the recently concluded World Cup in England and Wales.

Rashid Khan has troubled the World-class batsmen with his variation in different T20 leagues in the world. The talisman spinner has taken 131 wickets in 67 One Day matches. Furthermore, he has bowled with an average of 17.81 and he has given his runs at an economy rate of 4.14. Moreover, Rashid Khan can provide the finishing touches to the innings as he has scored 903 runs in his ODI career.

Mohammad Amir has got the ball to move both ways for Pakistan. Amir has bowled with great pace and he made a fine return to International cricket after serving his fixing ban. Furthermore, the gun fast bowler has called time on his Test career in a bid to concentrate more on the ODI format.

Mohammad Amir had a fine World Cup for Pakistan as he was the team’s leading wicket-taker with 17 wickets in the tournament. Amir has snared 77 wickets in 59 One Day Internationals and he has bowled with an average of 30.25. Furthermore, he gives his runs at an economy rate of 4.8.

Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami has made an inspirational comeback to ODI format. Shami bowls with a seam-up position and he has breathed down the neck of the opposition batsmen with his accurate line and length. Thus, the talisman fast bowler has been right on the money with his bowling.

Shami had a great World Cup campaign as he took 14 wickets in the four matches of the tourney. The gun fast bowler has taken 127 wickets in the 67 One Day matches for the Men in Blue. Shami has bowled with an average of 24.76 and he has conceded his runs at an economy rate of 5.48.

Jasprit Bumrah

India’s Jasprit Bumrah is currently the best fast bowler not only in Asia but also in the World. Bumrah has been right on the money with his bowling and he is the best death bowlers in the world. The talisman fast bowler has the skills to hit the blockhole consistently in the fag end of the innings. Furthermore, Bumrah bowls at an express pace and he hits the hard length.

Bumrah is currently at the numero uno position in the ICC ODI rankings. The gun pacer has taken 103 wickets in the 58 matches of his ODI career. The Indian pacer has bowled with an average of 21.88 and economy rate of 4.49.
