At this time, precisely 12 months back, the Indian National Cricket Team were relishing the joy of their first-ever series victory in Australia. They outsmarted Tim Paine-led Australian side in the 4-match Test series, which was the first time for an Indian team in the cricket history. It was the series, which was rated above the World Cup victory by the Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

Once again, at the end of this year (2020), the Indian team will travel to Australia for a Test series. This time, they will face a different unit, as the two superstars of Australia- David Warner and Steve Smith are back in the playing XI. Speaking of the same, Tim Paine stated that India would face a different side to what they have played.

Currently, the Australian team led by Tim Paine is in a great form, as they have won 5 consecutive games this summer. They thrashed Pakistan team led by Azhar Ali before clean-sweeping New Zealand in a three-match series. With confidence on their side, skipper Tim Paine said that the series against India is going to be a massive affair, next year.

Every team wants to be ruthless – Tim Paine

He believes that all the players in the current team have matured enough, and the presence of Steve Smith and David Warner will give them a great opportunity. With ICC World Championship final being the primary target, both the teams would go with all their guns blazing.

“We’re certainly a different side than what they played against last year. There are (also) test championship points at stake, and I think both India and Australia are eyeing off that final, so every point is going to be critical. If we can continue our upward trend, you’re potentially talking about the top two teams in the world, so it’s going to be an awesome series,” Tim Paine said to the reporters.

“Every team wants to be ruthless. (But) I think there were probably periods in the test series against India we should have capitalised on, but through wanting it too much, or trying too hard, or putting too much pressure on ourselves, we let it slip,” Paine added.

Well, as Tim Paine said, it would be interesting to see how things would turn out. As both the teams have enough superstars in the lineup, one can expect cracking contests between them. If things go as planned, they might even play a pink ball Test, which will be a pure delight for the spectators.
