The second ODI of the three-match series between New Zealand and India at the Eden Park in Auckland seems to have been heading for an exciting finish. India got off to a rollicking start in pursuit of 274 with Prithvi Shaw getting three boundaries off the first over from Hamish Bennett. But his opening partner Mayank Agarwal and soon after Shaw exited quickly. And the latest exit of the run-machine and Indian captain Virat Kohli for 15 has further put the visitors in a spot of bother.

Prior to the two deliveries, Tim Southee got Kohli in the tenth over of the Indian innings, the right-handed batsman had inside-edged one to the pad.

However, after two balls, the 31-year old seamer was successful in breaching Kohli’s defence through a full delivery that came back to hit the middle and leg stump.

Even Jamieson had troubled the Indian skipper numerous times by bowling in a disciplined manner.

Earlier, after being put to bat first, Ross Taylor and debutant Jamieson rescued the Kiwis from a precarious position of 197-8 to catapult them to a fighting total of 274 without losing any further wickets.

The 35-year old, who smashed a century in the last game in Hamilton to complete the chase of 348, finished at 73 not out while the towering fast bowler ended unbeaten on 25 that included one four and two massive sixes. The pair put on 76 for the ninth wicket.
