Before the start of the ongoing World Cup, all the talks were about how much the batsmen could score. The ongoing tournament was being widely tipped to be dominated by the batsmen. However, so far the story has been pretty different.  Quite a number of teams have managed to score 300-plus totals on a consistent basis but the last one week or so has been an exception.

Sri Lanka and India defended 232 and 224 respectively while Australia defended 285. In all the three games, fast bowlers made the difference. The likes of Lasith Malinga, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Jason Behrendorff and Mitchell Starc showed that fast-bowlers can still turn the games despite the game being heavily tilted towards batsmen.

All these pacers mainly relied on their lethal yorkers to get the job done. So with the fast-bowlers once again hitting the headlines for all the right reasons, we take a look at bowlers who have bowled the most number of yorkers in ODIs since 2010.

Having made his ODI debut in 2012, Trent Boult is currently one of the leading pacers in the world. He was the joint highest wicket-taker in the 2015 World Cup and is looking in a similar form in the ongoing tournament. Having bowled 233 yorkers since his debut, he is fifth in the list.

4. Nuwan Kulasekara:

Nuwan Kulasekara, the former world number one ODI pacer, is third in the list. The right-arm pacer was an integral part of the Sri Lankan team towards the end of the last decade. He helped Sri Lanka make it to the final of the 2011 World Cup where he conceded that famous six to MS Dhoni that ended the game in India’s favour. Kulasekara is fourth in the list by bowling 288 yorkers.

3. Tim Southee:

New Zealand pacer Tim Southee is third in the list. The right-arm pacer was the pace spearhead of the Black Caps but have fallen down the pecking order in recent times. Southee, who helped New Zealand qualify for the World Cup final for the first time in 2015, bowled 328 since 2010.

2. Mitchell Starc:

Mitchell Starc is second in this elite list. Just like the 2015 World Cup where he was the highest wicket-taker, Starc is making his presence felt in the ongoing World Cup too. He is the leading wicket-taker in the competition at this point. Starc, who made his ODI debut in 2010, has bowled 330 yorkers since then.

The veteran Sri Lanka pacer continues to be one of the best pacers in the world at the moment. Despite age not being on his side, Malinga continues to terrorise bowlers with his toe-crushing yorkers. The right-arm pacer, who is the only bowler to have taken two World Cup hat-tricks, is at the top of this list by bowling a staggering 872 yorkers. No other bowler has bowled more than 330 yorkers in the last 9 years.
