England has breached their previous record of the highest total in the One Day Internationals. The hosts put on a gargantuan total of 481 runs in the third ODI against Australia at Trent Bridge. The number one ODI side went past their previous best of 444 runs that they scored against Pakistan in 2016. Interestingly, the previous record had also come at the same ground of Nottingham.

Thus, the England team has continued to amaze everyone with limited overs form.

Meanwhile, Australia’s captain won the toss and put the hosts into bat. However, Tim Paine had no idea that his bowlers will be treated in an ignominious way.

England breaks their own record for the highest ODI total.

England’s opener Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow laid down a solid platform for the England side. Consequently, both the right-handers put together an alliance of 159 runs in just under 20 overs. Thus, the England innings kickstarted in the topmost gear. Subsequently, the hosts kept cruising in the same gear throughout their innings.

Furthermore, the Australian bowlers veered off the track. Thus, the inexperience in the Australian bowling battery was clearly palpable.

Jonny Bairstow continued his dream form going as the England opener scored a fine 139 off just 92 balls. The right-hander smashed 16 fours and five maximums in his innings. Bairstow opening partner Jason Roy scored a quickfire 82 off just 61 balls.

Alex Hales brought his masterpiece in his home ground. The right-hander capitalized on the good start provided by the England openers. The local lad scored a fine 147 off just 92 balls. Hales clobbered 15 boundaries to the fence and scored five maximums.

In fact, at one stage England look good to reach 500. However, England lost Alex Hales and Eoin Morgan in the fag end of the innings.

Meanwhile, the other highest team totals in the ODI form are as follows.
