Veteran batsman Wasim Jaffer, who had produced numerous records in the domestic fold, expresses that Virat Kohli’s limited-overs deputy Rohit Sharma should lead India in the 2023 World Cup.

Rohit, who is the leading run-scorer with 648 runs in nine matches of the ICC World Cup, has already proved his captaincy skill-set in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He also helped the Mumbai Indians (MI) to clinch record four titles.

Jaffer had made his statement on his Twitter handle.

Ricky Ponting reckons Australia were ‘worst’ at crucial moments:

Two-time Australia’s World Cup-winning skipper Ricky Ponting has admitted the fact that reigning champions have tactically done things well.

However, the assistant coach to Justin Langer, Ponting maintained they’ve played ‘worst cricket’ in the crucial junctures of the game.

Ponting’s statement came after Australia lost the lopsided encounter by eight wickets at the Edgbaston in Birmingham on July 11.

Legendary Australian skipper Steve Waugh has backed MS Dhoni for his strategy. Dhoni recently faced the wrath for his approach with the bat, particularly against England in Edgbaston.

The World Cup-winning skipper Waugh has backed Dhoni by saying that things tend to become difficult with age, but Dhoni is still best in business as a player for him.

Dhoni, who recently turned 38, has accumulated 273 runs in nine innings – to sit fourth on the list of most run-getters for India at the ICC World Cup 2019.

Team India’s vice-captain Rohit Sharma has returned home on late Friday. He has returned with his wife Ritika Sajdeh and six-month-old daughter, Samaira.

The celebrated cricketer was spotted at Mumbai Airport apart from driving an SUV.

Meanwhile, the other members of Team India will touchdown in Mumbai on Sunday (July 14) including skipper Virat Kohli.

BJP’s Sanjay Paswan hints MS Dhoni may join politics:

The speculations are rife about Team India’s seasoned and former skipper MS Dhoni on joining politics after bidding farewell to the gentleman’s game cricket.

Eoin Morgan believes it will be a low-scoring final at Lord’s:

England skipper Eoin Morgan has put forth his prediction that it will be a low-scoring finale between hosts Three Lions and Kane Williamson-led New Zealand on Sunday (July 14) at Lord’s.

Morgan also maintained it will be a tight ‘battle’ while terming Lord’s is not a high-scoring venue.
