BCCI Announces Team for Windies Tour:

MSK Prasad-led Team India selection committee on Sunday (July 21), had announced India’s squad for the upcoming Windies tour. Virat Kohli will lead the team across formats.

Former skipper MS Dhoni has been rested for the tour after he had personally made himself unavailable for the Caribbean tour.

Meanwhile, young speedster Navdeep Saini had made it to the limited-overs squad.

JP Duminy to play for BPL Franchise Rajshahi Kings:

South Africa veteran all-rounder JP Duminy will ply his trade with Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise Rajshahi Kings in the seventh edition of the BPL 2019-20 season.

The southpaw had recently announced his retirement from the ODI format. He played his last ODI during the 2019 World Cup at the Old Trafford in Manchester.

Duminy in the recent past had featured in the Indian Premier League (IPL) apart from Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Kumar Dharmasena Admits ‘Overthrow’ Mistake But Concedes he Won’t Regret the Decision:

Renowned umpire and former Sri Lanka cricketer Kumar Dharmasena had admitted the fact that he had committed a mistake during the England-New Zealand final at the Lord’s Cricket Stadium in Lond, last Sunday.

Dharmasena had awarded England six runs for overthrows instead of five. However, after it has been clear that batsman had not crossed, Dharmasena had termed it as a judgemental error.

However, he remains firm by saying he won’t regret the decision he made after having a chat with officiating partner, Marais Erasmus.

Mark Wood Hopeful for Ashes Berth Despite Injury:

England speedster Mark Wood is hopeful that he will feature in the Ashes midway as he is recovering from the hamstring injury.

Part of England’s World Cup-winning squad, Wood had suffered a side strain during a historic World Cup victory over Kane Williamson-led New Zealand at Lord’s on July 14.

Wood, who had played a quintessential role for the Three Lions with the ball in the ODI showpiece. Subjected to fitness, Wood is optimistic about playing his part in the impending traditional series.

The historic Ashes series will commence with the Edgbaston Test on August 1.
