Australian middle order batsman, Travis Head, who’s the recent overseas signing for Worcestershire, aims to promote an exciting brand of cricket this season.

Head made giant strides in international cricket with his performances for the Adelaide Strikers in the BBL. The 24-year old led the Strikers to victory in the last edition of Australia’s premier T20 competition.

Travis Head represented the national side in as many as 39 ODIs and 20 T20Is. The southpaw is now scheduled to feature in ten Specsavers County Championship Division One matches.

Also, he would be a force to reckon with in the subsequent Royal London One-Day Cup and Vitality Blast.

I’m a young player who is still learning his craft but more importantly, I’m going to Worcestershire to help the team to win more matches this season,” Travis Head told Worcester Observer.

I’ve had a good season for Australia, South Australia and The Strikers this summer but I want to improve in all three formats and play Test cricket for Australia,” added Head.

Travis Head says he would like Australia to repeat the same heroics they had produced on the Australia Day last year against England during the fourth ODI.

Head announced himself at the International stage with his mammoth knock of 128 against Pakistan. Since then, he hasn’t quite able to reach the three-figure mark in ODI cricket.

Want to make a consistent impact in white-ball cricket: Head

“I know Ben Cox and Ross Whiteley from their previous stints at Darren Lehmann’s academy in Adelaide so when I walk into the Worcestershire dressing room I won’t be a complete stranger,” said the Adelaide Striker.

“I want to make a consistent impact in white-ball cricket and in the Specsavers County Championship. I want to be consistent for South Australia in our remaining Sheffield Shield matches and to continue from where I leave off for Worcestershire in the County Championship.” Head said.

Head concluded by saying that he is his own harshest critic but was also a ‘very positive, glass-half-full person’ who wanted to help Worcestershire play an ‘exciting brand’ of cricket. “The club has given me a fantastic opportunity and I want to grab it with both hands,” ended Travis Head.
