Exactly, five years back from now, the cricketing world was shell-shocked with the allegations on the aggressive fast bowler Sreesanth. The charges were made on him of spot-fixing to bowl one over in the IPL, as per the instructions of the bookies. Later, after inquiry, he was handed ban for the lifetime. Meanwhile, fans want him back in the Indian National Cricket Team.
Gone are those days when the aggressive Keralite Sreesanth ran with an intent to deliver the goods for India across the formats. However, one controversy changed everything for the flamboyant cricketer.
He got banned from playing his favourite sport for his alleged involvement in fixing in the IPL. However, he is still fighting to get back into the team in all the possible way in the law of government.
Sreesanth is hoping for a positive judgement:
However, the justice came in his way when he fought legally with BCCI. Despite judgement came on his side, BCCI never allowed him to play the game, as they wanted to follow zero-tolerance policy.
In fact, BCCI hasn’t allowed him to travel and play for UK Cricket clubs as well. Sreesanth got the offer from Scottish club to play for their side but unfortunately, Sreesanth failed to make it, as BCCI objected it.
Sreesanth was the part of the Indian team in both major ICC events. He was called as a lucky cricketer for India, who took the catch of Misbah in the final of ICC World Cup 2007. Ironically, he also featured in ICC World Cup 2011 final as well.
Well, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out for the Kerala fast bowler. Currently, Sreesanth’s case is still pending in the supreme court. Meanwhile, a section of people went to the court on behalf of the Kerala fast bowler to get the judgement as quickly as possible.
