Team India produced another dominating effort to inflict a whitewash over South Africa beating them 3-0 in the Test series. It was the same script in Ranchi as that of the last two matches where the host ruled the Proteas out of the game by putting runs in the first innings.

The host needed two wickets to win on day four and they cleaned up the proceedings within the first two overs of the game. After a silent over from Mohammed Shami, debutant Shahbaz Nadeem claimed two in two consecutive balls to return with four wickets in the match.

Virat Kohli & Co were outstanding throughout the Test series and they will go home with a lot of positives from here. From Rohit Sharma’s devastating form to the fast bowlers bowling their heart out on Indian wickets, this has been one hell of a series for India. Moreover, they also extended their lead in the ICC World Test Championship playing five matches in total.

Batting first, India banked on a double hundred from Rohit Sharma and a century from Ajinkya Rahane to post 497 runs on the board before declaring. They dealt with early blows losing three quick wickets but Rahane and Rohit shouldered responsibilities to put the host in a strong position before the bowlers stepped up.
