The former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly has always been the saviour of the Indian cricket. Firstly, he took captaincy for India when it was in a poor state with match-fixing allegations. Now, once again, he is all set to become the BCCI president when it hit an all-time low. Meanwhile, fans are elated with the news, as they want to see him attaining the new role.

Sourav Ganguly – One Of India’s Successful Skippers:
When Ganguly took over as India captain in 2000, Indian cricket was in muddy waters, picking up pieces after the match-fixing scandal. He drove Indian cricket to safety and instilled belief that India could win overseas. Once again, now, with BCCI’s influence significantly reduced at the ICC, the former skipper would like to show his class.
As per reports, he is expected to file his nomination on October 14, the deadline for that stage of the BCCI electoral process. Also, he is likely to be the lone candidate and hence, will get elected unopposed.
However, as things stand right now, it will only be a stint for 10 months at the top for Ganguly after which he will have to go in for a cooling-off period from July 2020 under the new rules.
The former India captain called it a “great feeling” to head the country’s cricket board. He added that it is an opportunity for him to do something at a time when its “image has got hampered quite a lot”. According to PTI, after a dramatic turn of events, Sourav Ganguly pipped Brijesh Patel to become the front-runner for the top BCCI job.

The same BCCI once removed #SouravGanguly from Captaincy. Removed him from Playing 11. Now he is going to head BCCI. Lesson is when life slaps you with hard times, hit life back in swag like Dada.
