Team India opener Mayank Agarwal has a happy knack of scoring double centuries and has now registered his second Test double only in eight games. The recent came during the first Test against Bangladesh at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Rajkot.

The home side was in a spot of bother losing in-form Rohit Sharma for six. But Mayank continued his spectacular run with the bat to bail India out of any danger. He first stitched a partnership with Cheteshwar Pujara and then backed it with another 100+ stand with Ajinkya Rahane to march towards a big score.

Meanwhile, Mayank Agarwal has had his share of luck during his innings. He was dropped late yesterday and used DRS to save himself today but made the most out of his opportunity. Since making his debut against Australia, he has provided a solidity in the top-order which India have been in search of for quite some time.

The Karnataka-born batsman now has the most runs scored in Test matches since his debut and also averages over 70 in Test cricket. Only Steve Smith sits close to him after a tremendous Ashes series on his comeback. Mayank Agarwal missed his century in Australia and West Indies by small margins but made it big in his first opportunity in his first Test in India.

He scored a big hundred in the first Test and then backed it up with another double century in the second match against South Africa. After a rare failure in the third Test, Mayank Agarwal brought his second double century only in his eighth Test match. Mayank reached the landmark with a six just like Virender Sehwag; with whom he has drawn comparisons with.

He single-handedly carried on his shoulder to massive score as India strive at 367 for four along with fifties from Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara. With still three days to go for this Test match, Mayank will have his eyes set on the triple-century mark and be India’s third batsmen to achieve the feat.
