There is absolutely no stopping Shikhar Dhawan at the moment. The Delhi Capitals opener is continuing to pile up runs in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 as he registered yet another century in the ongoing game against Kings XI Punjab on Wednesday.

This was his second century in a row and in the process, he became the first-ever player to score back-to-back centuries in IPL. In his previous outing, he had played a match-winning knock of 101 not out against Chennai Super Kings. Having not managed a single fifty in his first six innings of the ongoing competition, the southpaw has now scored four fifty-plus scores in his last four innings while getting out just once.

Against KXIP, he remained unbeaten on 106 to help his side score 164 for 5 in the allotted 20 overs after Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat first. His knock came off 61 balls and was studded with 12 fours and three sixes. During his knock, he also became just the fifth player to cross the 5,000-run mark in IPL.

Barring Shikhar Dhawan, none of the other Delhi Capitals batsmen managed to get going. Prithvi Shaw’s poor run of form continued as he managed to score only 7 from 11 balls while Rishabh Pant, who was returning from injury, scored 14 from 20.

The likes of Marcus Stoinis and Shreyas Iyer failed to get going too but Shikhar Dhawan made sure to guide his side to a good total. Soon after he reached his ton, the cricketing fraternity took to Twitter to laud him for his knock.
