Twitter Questions The Selection Of KL Rahul For Australia and Kiwis Tour
Updated - 25 Dec 2018, 05:46 PM
Ahead of Boxing Day Test, BCCI announced the ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming Australia and Kiwis series. What came as a surprise was the inclusion of KL Rahul, who was carrying a poor form with his willow, across the formats. Meanwhile, it didn’t impress Twitterati, who asked the reason behind inclusion.
KL Rahul isn’t in a great form across the formats. He failed to make his mark in the Indian Jersey despite having a great experience under his belt. Apart from the century in the series against England, KL Rahul never showed any glimpses of scoring runs freely for the team.
KL Rahul failed to score runs for India:
His poor technique in dealing the in-coming deliveries has become a great issue for the youngster, which saw him leaving his place for young Hanuma Vihari in the Boxing Day Test. Despite all, BCCI gave yet another chance to the Karnataka youngster.
It is learnt from the words of national selector MSK Prasad that KL Rahul will be available in the limited overs format in a case of any injuries to the regular wicketkeeper MS Dhoni or Dinesh Karthik. He will also be the backup opening batsman and also for the middle-order department.
Perhaps, BCCI has fixed themselves to give the last crack for KL Rahul ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019. Rahul has been travelling with the team for quite a time now. To be honest, he never got the real chances in limited overs.
During the course, they left out Rishabh Pant for the ODI format. Of late, Dinesh Karthik has been fantastic and delivering the things beautifully for the team. Perhaps, it attracted the selectors to restrict with him for the grand event.
Here are the tweets:
Please give a chance to Yuvi instead of taking K L Rahul

Why KL Rahul ? On what basis ? Its better to allow Prithivi Shaw or Raina. This is some serious issue with selection committee.

Kl Rahul is backup opener my foot. Ajinkya rahane is more than 15, 50s as a opener. He is technically correct in swinging condition. Virat s friendship will go down Indian team

Why Kohli and Shastri continuously backing #klrahul ?
Someone has to come up and correct this mental illness while selecting him in each time every format and with same result /performance.This is something else,
Need good management to correct these mistakes#kohli#shastri— Sarang Sambare (@SarangS21) December 24, 2018
