Twitter Reactions: Gautam Gambhir Officially Appointed as Delhi Daredevils Skipper

“I’m privileged to be captaining Delhi Daredevils. It is always great to comeback home, where you stated your IPL career, cricketing career as well,” Gambhir said after he was officially announced the team’s captain. “Hopefully this is he place I’m going to finish as well. So i am really looking forward to it and really really really excited about it.”
After the auctions, DD head coach Ricky Ponting had revealed on the day of auction that Gambhir will be contacted for the role of captaincy. He had made it clear that Gambhir was the first choice captain and the news was officially announced today.
While playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders, Gambhir was an inspirational character, He led his troops to perfection and it was under his leadership that KKR made a revival in the tournament after pretty disappointing opening 3 years. Delhi Daredevils who has been one of the weakest teams in the tournament as per performances will also look for a revival under Gambhir’s captaincy.
