Twitter Reactions: MS Dhoni owns the DRS system for the umpteenth time
Updated - 16 Jun 2019, 07:10 PM
The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka at Dharamshala was marked by a dominant bowling performance from the Sri Lankan bowlers. Sri Lanka went 1-0 up in the series rattling the Indian batting line up like a pack of cards and then chasing the small target successfully. While every Indian batsman fell easy victims to the Sri Lankan bowling attack led by Suranga Lakmal, one man refused to give up the fight.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni played for the team once again, and his knock of 65 runs came at a time when his country needed the most. Dhoni played a gutsy and matured knock taking the burden of the team for the umpteenth time, and we can do nothing but respect the man.
However, Dhoni was on song not only with his bat but also his decision making. The batsman has been an extra-ordinary decision-maker throughout his career which saw him conquer three ICC trophies. Dhoni nailed the DRS once again at Dharamshala which completely portrayed the confidence of the man. When Jasprit Bumrah was trapped on the pads by Sachith Pathirana, the umpire did not hesitate to put up his finger signalling the loss of the 9th wicket.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni went straight up for the review from the non-strikers end forcing the umpires to take a closer look. On taking a detailed look, it was clear that the ball missed the off stump completely, which gave Jasprit Bumrah a second life. However, Bumrah did not survive long as he was cleaned up in the very same over by Pathirana.
Twitter went crazy on seeing the legendary captain’s confidence and utilisation of his experience at the right time. India may have lost the match, but one thing that remains constant is the greatness of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Here are some best tweets about the same:
