Mumbai Indians have managed to win the game against Kolkata Knight Riders by 13 runs. The win meant they will need to win all their remaining matches to seal a play off spot.
Having won the toss and put Mumbai Indians into bat, Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers had struggled to stop openers Evin Lewis and Surya Kumar Yadav. The duo went all guns blazing in the power play overs and managed an impressive 91 run stand for the opening wicket.
But the wickets of Evin Lewis, Rohit Sharma and Surya Kumar Yadav in quick succession have helped Kolkata back into the game. While Krunal Pandya failed to impress this time, after his heroics against Kings XI Punjab, his brother Hardik Pandya made some quick runs at the end.
Hardik Pandya’s quick knock propelled Mumbai Indians score to 181/4 in their 20 overs. Dinesh Karthik used as many as 7 different bowlers during the innings. Both Sunil Narine and Andre Russell starred with the ball for Kolkata Knight Riders.
Having asked to chase a par 182, Kolkata lost both the openers in quick succession. But Robin Uthappa and Nitish Rana held the innings together as they countered Mumbai bowlers. The duo put on a very good 84 run partnership in quick time to help Kolkata get a foothold on the game.
But once again Kolkata lost both the players in quick succession which made the match quite even going into the final overs. But Andre Russell and Dinesh Karthik found the going tough after two quick wickets. The big hitting West Indies all rounder did not have a great day with the bat as he was out for just 9. The idea of sending Sunil Narine at the back end of the game also backfired badly.
Amongst the Mumbai bowlers, Hardik Pandya once again impressed with his bowling. He was once again economical and won the purple cap at the end of the game.

#MIvKKR so we have reached a point where MI will win all their matches and KXIP will lose all their matches.

With all due respect sir, you better perform a crime rather than dropping catch of Robin Uthappa. Thanks for coming! 😊 #MIvKKR

Uthupa and Rana have strung together a fine, rallying partnership to have Mumbai — players and fans — on tenterhooks

Lynn's wicket disrupts KKR's flying start. Powerplay so imp for both teams. Wonderful to see young Shubhman Gill open. Progressing rapidly!

Feeling worried for Suryakumar Yadav. Physically drained. It’ll be tough to go on for too long. Perhaps, time to pass on the baton. #MIvKKR #IPL

181 is something to play with but not enough to dream about getting points. #MI will have to bowl well to stay alive in the #IPL

Don't understand the way some players are being treated this #IPL. Like Cutting today.
Why play him if you don't trust him.
Don't make him bowl.
When you're struggling on a good pitch and you need a clean hitter like him, you refuse to send him.
Unbelievable.#MIvKKR— Emma Raducanu Fan Account (@Pravir21) May 6, 2018
Suryakumar Yadav has been super consistent. Gives the much needed stability at top almost every game.

Stop deciding about which position Rohit Sharma should play, only Ritika Bhabhi has got that right.

MI would have hoped for Lewis to convert these starts, onus on Rohit once again.
