Twitter Reactions: Shikhar Dhawan Celebrates His 32nd Birthday

Team India opener Shikhar Dhawan celebrates his 32^nd birthday today and the cricketing world didn’t leave their opportunity to wish “Gabbar” a very happy birthday. In the pictures shared by the BCCI website, Dhawan can be seen in bare body along with his teammates with cake smeared all over his face and body. This has been the trend in the Indian dressing room in the recent past as the players are smeared with cake all over their body on their birthdays.

There were some special messages for Shikhar who spend some quality time in the middle on his birthday. The southpaw raced is way to yet another Test fifty to get India off to a quick start in the 2^nd innings. The hosts had secured a huge lead and attack was the main weapon which was required at that point in time.

He struck some magnificent shots and just after completing his fifty, the left-hander came dancing down the track and smashed left-arm chinaman bowler Lakshan Sandakan for a monstrous six straight over his head. He had to head back to the pavilion of the bowling of the same bowler. He came dancing down the track yet again but missed it altogether and wicket-keeper Niroshan Dickwella behinds the stumps whipped off the bails in a flash.

The southpaw has been in sensational form of late. He made a stunning comeback in the limited overs format during the Champions Trophy and bagged the Golden Bat for a successive time in the tournament. There is something with Dhawan when it comes to ICC tournaments. He tends to up the ante whenever there is an ICC tournament. He finished as the leading run scorer and carried on his good form in the longest format against Sri Lanka.

Even on his Test comeback he smashed a quickfire century and batted Sri Lanka out of the match. The southpaw will look to take his rich vein of form to South Africa where he will be tested in bouncy pitches.
