England and Rajasthan Royals swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batsman, Jos Buttler, has finally announced himself in the Vivo IPL 2021 by smashing his maiden T20 century in the ongoing fixture against the SunRisers Hyderabad.

Buttler’s knock was a tale of two contrasting halves: the first half in which he struggled to increase the pace of his innings and the second in which he unleashed his fury on the SunRisers Hyderabad bowling attack and smashed them to all corners of the stadium.

Buttler, who had managed his first 42 runs in as many as 37 deliveries, went absolutely berserk as he smashed as many as six fours and four sixes in his next 19 deliveries to bring up a 56-ball ton.

This was Jos Buttler’s first hundred in his 282nd T20 innings and he celebrated that by smashing Sandeep Sharma for three sixes and a four in the 19th over to bring up Rajasthan Royals 200 before he was finally dismissed for a 64-ball 124. In the process, Buttler has become just the sixth batsmen after Yuusuf Pathan, Shane Watson, Ajinkya Rahane, Ben Stokes and  Sanju Samson to score a 100 for Rajasthan Royals.

Buttler’s knock has helped Rajasthan Royals post their highest first-innings total of 220 against the SunRisers Hyderabad.
