Twitter Wishes Yuvraj Singh On His 36th Birthday
Updated - 19 Jun 2019, 05:31 PM
Veteran India batsman Yuvraj Singh turned 36 on Tuesday (December 12) and as expected wishes poured in from his friends and fans. The southpaw is not a regular member of the Indian team but there is absolutely no denying the fact that he remains among the most popular cricketers in the country and it has become very much clear with the way his fans warmly wished him on his special day.
Yuvraj is currently in pursuit of making another comeback to the Indian team. He was recalled to the ODI team after a three-year gap for the series against England in January this year and he justified the selection with a career-best 150-run knock in his very second match after the return. However, things did not turn out as expected after that as he had a poor Champions Trophy where he aggregated 105 runs in four innings. It was followed by yet another dismal outing against West Indies before he was dropped. He also failed the mandatory Yo-Yo test thrice which reportedly made the selectors to ignore him.
However, the World Cup-winning star, who has cleared the endurance test, is still harboring hopes of making it to the team and is hopeful of playing the next World Cup in 2019.
“I would like to tell that I am failing. I still fail. I failed the last three fitness tests but yesterday I passed my fitness test. After 17 years I am still failing,” Yuvraj had recently said.
“I am still playing. I don’t know what format I am going to play. But I am pushing everyday as hard as I used to, may be harder than before because I am getting older. And I see myself playing cricket till 2019 and obviously take a call after that,” he had added.
And the way the fans wished him on his birthday, it is very much clear that he is still very much on the scene despite losing his place in the team. Here are some of the reactions:
